Around the World with Jesus!

Wednesdays in July were busy for the children and teens who participated in vacation bible school. Passports in hand, they got on our imaginary airplane and flew to Nazareth, Mexico, China and New York City.

In Nazareth we learned about Jesus’ birth and the time he was missing in the temple. We sang Happy Birthday to him and played a game finding missing objects. We wondered “What was Jesus like as a boy?”
Mexico was very festive. Dc. Tom Picciano told us about his trip to Mexico. We talked about Our Lady of Guadalupe and how important Mary is to all of us. We made rosaries and prayed the Hail Mary in Spanish.
When we visited China we learned how God takes care of all of us even the animals. We learned about St. Francis of Assisi and recited his prayer. Snacks of animal and fish crackers reminded us that all creation is a gift from God.
Our last stop was New York City. We learned that one is never too old or too young to be a disciple. Jesus asks all of us to share the Father’s love with others. Our chalk drawings in the church parking lot were of signs to let people know how much God loves us.
Special thanks to our teen helpers Megan Brunner, Amy Gonzales, Cheryl Limer and Josh Link. Thank you to Mary Ann Maher for all the fun crafts!

Congratulations to our Confirmation candidates: On Sunday, June 12, Dakota Angevine, John Bedosky, Maria DeRosa, Amy Gonzales, Kayla Koch, Anna Kuchera, Janelle Ligi, Delanie Madison, Sean McMahon, Emily McNierney, Shannon Sweeney and William Veruto will make their Confirmation along with youth from Most Holy Rosary Parish at 5 p.m. at our church. Please keep them in your prayers.

Parish youths honored: Megan Brunner and Jake Daly were recognized at the CYO Celebration of Youth on Friday, April 29. We thank them for their service to our parish.
