CYO Soccer Leagues forming: There are two leagues beginning in September. The Bantam Soccer Instructional League (for ages 4-8) will meet on Sundays from noon to 1 p.m., Sept. 19-Oct. 24 at MacArthur Park. The cost is $30. The Youth Co-Ed Soccer League (for ages 9 & under; 12 & under) divisions will meet at MacArthur Park Sept. 18-Oct. 24. Call 584-7800 or email kdaly@ccbc.net for more information.
2009-2010 Basketball Season
St. Ambrose players key to All Star Varsity West Division victory! At the All Star Tournament held Saturday, Feb. 6 at St. Thomas, St. Ambrose players Pat Barrett and Brian Ruby represented our parish well. Ruby had two three-pointers (and a total of eight points) while Barrett was the game high scorer, with 14 points, in the 63-45 victory. It had been almost a decade since the West Division took the Broome County CYO All Star Varsity Basketball title. Congrats to our players and the West Division!

We're No. 1, again! On March 1, the St. Ambrose Grammar Cheerleading Squad won their division at the Broome County CYO Cheerleading Competition. Congratulations Shannon, Mary, Megan, Dakota, Maria, Heather E., Kelsey, Heather R., Malisa, Gabbie, Sarah, Rachel, Jordyn, Venise, Marissa, Angela and Kristine. We're proud of our girls!
Congratulations St. Ambrose Kings for topping the JV Western Basketball League (with a perfect 14-0 season) as well as winning the Broome CYO Basketball JV Championship against St. Mary's. CYO Cheerleading Competition date set
The 2009 CYO Cheerleading Competition will be held at the BU Events Center on Sunday, March 1. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. with the competition beginning at 1 p.m. Tickets are $5 general admission for all attendees and will be available at the CYO Office, 86 Walnut Street, Binghamton from Wednesday, February 18th - Friday, February 27th (weekdays) from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Please call the CYO Office at 584-7800 x431 for information.
CYO Volleyball
Teen volleyball league forming soon. If you are in grades 9-12 and would like to join the CYO Ed O'Neill Volleyball League, call the CYO office at 584-7800.
CYO Scholarships
Please contact the CYO office (584-7800 x431) for information/applications regarding the following scholarships available for graduating seniors:
Jim Roma-CYO Scholarship - Awarded to six area youth whose involvement in school, youth ministry, CYO or community service has made a positive contribution. Deadline March 31.
LeMoyne College CYO Scholarship - Eight $4000 scholarships ($1000/year) to prospective LeMoyne students in the Diocese of Syracuse who have demonstrated leadership abilities and performed service to their school, community and parish. Deadline February 2.
Southern Tier Basketball Officials/Carl Gaffney Scholarship - $500 for graduating seniors (one boy and one girl) who have played varsity basketball. Deadline February 27.
